Hey there, friends!
I’m super excited to share with you one of my all-time favorite local events – the “Classics by the Sea” race! It’s happening on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at our beautiful Carlin Park in Jupiter, and it’s a day packed with fun, fitness, and fantastic views.
This year marks the 24th annual run of this amazing race, brought to us by the awesome folks at Palm Beach Roadrunners. And let me tell you, whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun day out with the family, this event has something for everyone.
The day kicks off bright and early with the Kids 1 Miler at 7:10 AM – perfect for our little champions aged 5-12. It’s such a delight to see these young ones dash with all their might! Following that, we have the 10K starting at 7:30 AM and the 5K at 7:40 AM. So, whether you’re up for a brisk morning run or a more leisurely stroll, there’s a pace and a place for you.
The course itself is a treat – an out-and-back route along the beach, offering gorgeous ocean views that will keep your spirits high as you stride. And hey, after crossing that finish line, you’ll be greeted with a well-deserved finisher medal. Talk about a memento!
But it’s not just about the race. It’s about community, about coming together, celebrating our health, the outdoors, and just having a blast. Imagine finishing your run and then diving into the ocean for a cool down, or just chilling on the beach with your family and friends. That’s the Jupiter lifestyle for you!
My family and I have not only been avid supporters but active participants in this race since 2016. This event holds a special place in our hearts as it’s become a yearly tradition for us.
What makes it even more special is the involvement of our children. They started participating in the race as young as two and a half years old, beginning with the kids’ one-mile race. This isn’t just about fun; it’s also a learning experience for them. They get to understand the essence of competitive running and the joy of being rewarded for their hard work and perseverance. Watching them grow and improve every year in this race has been a delightful experience for our entire family.
Remember, the early bird gets the best parking spot, so plan to arrive before 6:30 AM to snag a great one. And don’t forget – while we love our furry friends and little ones in strollers, they’ll have to cheer us from the sidelines this time, as they aren’t allowed on the course.
